My wife speaks a bunch of languages and has watched Masterchef in Spanish, Portuguese, plus the US, UK and Israeli versions. Same basic format but totally different cultural expectations. Reality/gameshow TV in the Americas is produced to be cutthroat and bitchy.

it is one of my go-to points - connected to their widespread use of firearms and dire lack of training - that while police have problems everywhere, U.S. police are unusually brutal and incompetent by developed country standards.

Even 6 or 7 years ago I had a slide in my due diligence training pack saying "it's easy to generate fake documents, it's surprisingly easy to generate fake cash but it's difficult to generate fake buildings and it's very difficult to generate fake people"
