My message to Kristi Noem is clear: Get out of Chicago.

Folks — this is not a normal government shutdown.

Let me explain the stakes and how we got here.

A bus of Bronx middle schoolers pulled up to the Capitol this morning for a long-planned field trip just a few hours after the government shut down.

All Capitol tours were cancelled as the guides can’t work in shutdown.

So I escorted them in myself and gave them a personal tour. They were great!

1/ DEVELOPING: A journalist was rushed to New York-Presbyterian Hospital following another incident with an ICE agent at 26 Federal Plaza, an immigration court in NYC. The last I heard, he was getting X-rays for his lower back.

I REPEAT: the feds ordered his arrest even though he wasn’t breaking any laws.

Federal agent: “We are arresting the mayor right now per the Deputy Attorney General of the United States.”

Part 1: ICE leaves little girl behind in car alone to watch—as her father is handcuffed and taken away.

Her dad has since been “disappeared”—extensive searches show no record of his being detained.

Witnesses say little girl is visibly traumatized.
