So the theater company I work for just got a lease on a new theater space that used to be a movie theater. I’m really hoping we can do movie nights there both officially (right for the movie) and for some private events.

I just repriced the gaming rig that was part of my pre-tariff tech spending spree from last winter. Not quite double but only just. So glad I didn’t waver on that particular upgrade.

I definitely feel this way. I've quickly gained a reputation as the LLM skeptic and antagonist against anything AI in my team.
I feel like I'm going to have to white-knuckle dealing with this stuff until I can retire and get away from tech entirely.

I have found them narrowly useful for low stakes things that I've found myself re-learning every 6-12 months of my career, but I never manage to use often enough to properly learn.
Mostly quick bash+sed+awk and the rare occasion where I'm forced to write some frontend JS/TS.

Every time I open it, usually because Instagram shows something vaguely interesting, it’s just rage bait. People post the most unhinged things, get ratioed into oblivion, then never respond in the comments. Over and over again.

I wonder if it speed to deploy? All the AI people are obsessed with being “first” no matter the cost.
Maybe they think they can build it faster without spending time on terrestrial politics, regulation, land acquisition etc.
It’s still insane but that’s the only thing that I can think of.

I just got into the beta for waymo freeway driving, so the stats are going to start to normalize as that rolls out. I _expect_ we’ll see the stats roughly maintain, as I believe they are safer. That said the first high speed autopilot crash is gonna be a PR circus.
