It definitely existed pre-Harper. Conservatives were furious that we don’t follow the Americans into Iraq.

I personally know a handful of people who have done this that I would consider friends or at least friendly acquaintances. It is absolutely infuriating, and it is impossible to convey the risk of this backfiring to them (I have tried with a couple of them).
