Facial features continue to be my weak point - the face I gave her makes her seem far too serious.

However, most of my focus was on the volume of the body which I think turned out well! Overall I am pleased! Even though Marcille looks like she's been possessed by a demon.

This was an effort to build up the human form through basic shapes to give more of a '3D' impression.

I'm not completely happy with the proportions - the legs are way too small for one. Still, I'm happy that this one has more "volume" over previous attempts

These exercises represent a change in my approach to drawing.

Previously, I felt compelled to complete each exercise come hell or high water. However, on these I stopped once I felt like I'd learned something. It's refreshing! :D

I'm not in love with how the horns turned out, but I do like them as a design element. I'll add 'horns' to the pile of things to practice x.x

I tend to use code names for my personal projects so that I can talk about them without committing to a specific name while I'm still building out the game. So "gutter" isn't final

Project Gutter is 7th project that I've designed since starting this, which is why it starts with 'G'.

It's strange to revisit figure studies, because I first learned how to draw by obsessively drilling figure studies.

The frenetic pace that they require gave me some habits that I'm still trying to shake.

It's been a very long time since I've done any sort of figure drawing/human body studies & I felt the rust while I was making this.

Looks like figure drawing studies are next!

These studies were done from Sumiko Arai's The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't A Guy At All (aka Green Yuri).
She does an AMAZING job of using precision in her lines to imply detail while keeping the art clean.
Highly recommend you pick it up!!
