This clip of the #Vancouver murder weapon makes me 😥&🤬 because it's a reminder that governments require that these 300+ HP SUVs be equipped with air bags, to protect *their owners* from catastrophic impact, while humans outside are left with just their clothing to protect!

We need government strong enough to rein in private power and democracy strong enough to rein in government. And we need a new internationalism built on cooperation of states to solve global problems rather than the interests of corporations to maximize profits.

Exactly this.

Defying almost every prediction, Finland was never swallowed by the Soviet Union. If we look at the root causes of that miracle, progressive policies instituted from the 1920s have to be among the most important reasons, arguably THE most important reason.
there was also deeper meaning here: when you own a plot of land and a house on it ... outright communism does not sound so appealing anymore.
