BTW for those who don’t know me yet, below is a TL;DR of my political beliefs. Am an anarcho-Social Democrat :D.

Rawls, Sen and Nussbaum fill out most of the details. The Veil of Ignorance (extended to include ignorance about the _species_ one is born into) and Capability Approach especially.
I consider myself a lefty even by Nordic standards and have been called a communist often enough by the far right loons. Because I do maintain that billionaires are system errors and we need to redistribute resources fairly if we want to have a future worth having.
…or behind billionaires and/or iron cages of orthodox economic policy
I think the whole traditional concept of European power should be thought through. Like money is power, sure, but seems like money without hard steel to back it up only goes so far.

GDP power is hollow if that GDP is locked to status quo or behind infinite negotiations.

Did you know that Chess players not only can't bring their phones to playing venues, but they can't bring pens too?

so time to backtrack to the wishy-washy concept of intelligence

Transpose the argument with another random instrument:

(Telescopes) Telescopes are very helpful in producing knowledge, but they won't be able to create new paradigms.

Anyone who read Kuhn's book should see how silly that would be - telescopes were true game changers!

This is historically wrong, as totalitarianism originated first as something Italian fascists called themselves and second in the 1930s as a way or comparing the remarkably similar ambitions and techniques of governance in the USSR and Nazi Germany.

Mitvit? Siis Tunnin radasta tehdään yksiraiteinen?

Siis tehdään ns. Espoot - koska ei haluta maksaa, niin tehdään lyhyet metrolaiturit, ja ne taas vaikuttavat koko metron liikenteeseen.

Concur. If multiple large BATO countries are simultaneously under isolationist rule, or other hard to foresee changes occur, risks may rise significantly. Hence, this recommendation.

RECOMMENDATION: The #Baltic region countries and #Ukraine, perhaps augmented by like-minded countries like South #Korea, should begin a joint R&D program to develop #nuclear weapons and their delivery systems, and the required infrastructure.

The goal: a credible independent "minimum #deterrent."
Should Poland have nuclear weapons?
The majority of respondents answered yes.

In the worst case the NB8 plus Poland UA and UK can hold off Russia, but can’t currently deter it. This really needs a change in British posture (they could invite Poland into the Jef, prioritise defence spending etc) but Starmer isn’t in that frame of mind. They still think they can rely on US.

Also, since Putin, Russia has been relentless in attacking Western governments, economies, ideals, culture etc. They never stopped. The CIA has also been busy. 🇪🇺 countries haven't thought in terms of relentless strategic defence (let alone attack) - they leave it to the private sector to innovate.

Yes fully agree. Western Europe has still to understand that including Eastern Europe in the EU means that the continued existence of European integration means taking the East’s security interests into account. France in particular struggles with this though Germany has got better.

The best thing I learned from Macaulay Culkin at last night’s Home Alone screening is that his 4yo son loves the movie, thinks of himself as Kevin, and has no idea that that’s his dad. Culkin is attempting to hide that fact for as long as possible

I love this so much. Macaulay Culkin carried that movie on his back. Remarkable for a child actor. Plus it still holds up!
