This is what I mean by getting lucky with proper old-school winter weather. Not much of it around in the world.
Winter tightens its hold in Lapland. At the moment -28.3 °C in Savukoski Tulppio with > 20 cm of snow. The coldest so far this winter in Finland.
However, much like in 2023, large parts of the northern hemisphere are unusually warm again (except Fennoscandia).

Germany, after long discussions, is now apparently taking concrete steps to reactivate conscription, starting with mandatory medical examinations for men born after 1/1/2008, but drafting only volunteers at first.
