It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

There’s a book by Dan Brown called Origin. In the age of billionaires and AI, I keep harking back to it…
It’s a good fiction read, as most of his books are. But there are strong parallels to today’s climate. The richest and most privileged among us seeking more and more, and never being satiated.
