My wife saw this and felt that the saying "grow where you're planted" isn't always that helpful. Maybe sometimes growing somewhere else is better.

I love small engine repair. Today I sold a mower to a lovely Ukrainian person who was displaced from his home because of the Russian attacks. I also fixed a mower for a lovely family from Afghanistan. Canada is richly blessed in its diversity - I am so grateful to be here.

While I do not support Rachael Thomas or the CPC, I am glad to see that she has spoken publicly about this nonsense.

Canadian children's programming aligned the moral compass of generations of people. Where would we be without Mr.Dressup and the Friendly Giant?
On this day in 1919, Bob Homme was born.
While he was born in the United States, he adopted Canada as his home.
To generations of Canadians, he was The Friendly Giant.
Let's look up...waaaaay up...and learn about his life!

As everything in the world seemingly goes to shit, it is nice to escape to the garage on a warm day and pull a wrench. I was tired of fighting with the old engine on this tiller, so I installed a brand new one.

It's a good thing it is Lent, because if I have to give up bourbon, I'm sure not going to be replacing it with rye. Best to just sit this out for a while.

Well, it seems like the Bible is correct when it says you can't serve both God and money.

I think it is worth noting that governments *shouldn’t* operate like a business. Because a good business makes cuts because it can’t be all things to all people.

A good government ought to serve ALL its people, including those whose lives aren’t efficient or profitable.

I feel like we Canadians would all be a little less shitty if we just remembered what we learned from Mr. Dressup, The Friendly Giant, and CBC Kids (for those who are younger). If only we could measure the benefit we have all received from CBC programs for children.

I thought this was lovely. The point is well taken, and fair. I love what this guy is doing.

You don't have to be an NDP die hard to credit basic human kindness. This is something sorely lacking in politics. Never thought Manitoba would draw me until now.

In recent years I have been drawn toward more progressive theology and politics, partly because there are some intelligent thinkers in these spaces, but mostly because the people in these spaces seemed kinder. That being said, some people on the left still say some awful, vitriolic things.

“eight men and women who rely on the society's emergency shelter rushed in to help within seconds of the blast.”

While the province takes an approach to homelessness that’s wholly insufficient, these vulnerable Albertans saved lives.
