Hey @cnn.com, please explain how Canada is “escalating” by matching tariffs that Trump unilaterally imposed?

Appallingly bad “journalism,” when the moment requires exactly the opposite…

The LA Times photo desk, which is doing incredible work covering these brutal fires, has set up a Bluesky account that is among the newest ones we have verified. They are well worth following right now. @latimesphotos.bsky.social

Times like these prompt me to reflect on how my views have been so warped being a reporter in America. When Yoon Suk Yeol became president by just 200,000 votes in 2022, I braced for a long recount fight cuz I’d covered the 2020 recount fights in U.S. swing states.

I was so surprised when… 1/7

it's tuesday evening and we're korean
Absolutely zero shade at all, but why were so many reporters and politicians drunk on a Monday evening?
I am, incidentally, pretty drunk rn (the job is 24/7!!!). This is the most Korean thing I've ever done.

Threads like this are what I missed most after leaving Twitter
I'm at the National Assembly building. The army is here. And I just saw two soldiers in fatigues getting pushed around by belligerent ajusshis. and they looked legit scared.

Hello! I’m a news photo editor with @theglobeandmail.com, based in our Vancouver bureau.

I won’t be posting much here as I’ve found myself happier since deleting Twitter more than a year ago, but I’ll always be reachable here.

Photographers: please say hi, I’m always open to meet and catch up!

A little thread about my latest feature for the @theglobeandmail.com.
A century ago, cowgirls used to compete right alongside cowboys at the rodeo. And they were GOOD. Women like Mabel Strickland and Bertha Blancett were among the best rodeo riders and ropers in the world.

It is so incredibly nice to have a social platform that values links again - a breath of fresh air in the poisoned ecosystem of the creator economy

This is a good summary of why I feel so hesitant to jump back into this platform despite the recent surge of users.

I deleted Twitter more than a year ago and my mind felt so much clearer without the constant urge to produce and consume takes on the news.
"I'm reading the news, not other people's reactions to the news."

This is big. It's also why I'm grappling with the explosion here on Bsky and how I interact with it. I spent 2 yrs with a quietish feed, some news but more fun. I scrolled less but was as informed

I’m a journalist and I’m changing the way I read news. This is how.
Sometimes it's healthy to do something you love less, and differently.
