As a general rule, they won't release evidence that could potentially still be used in criminal cases.

Maxwell's conviction was still in the appeals process, after all.

This is only a massive deal because Trump "promised" to release them if re-elected.

If you're going to do this sort of long(er) form journalism, you shouldn't need an editor to tell you to research the history of the topic you're about to write on.

We are losing something by having newsrooms where everyone who has more than a few years’ experience has gotten fired. I don’t fault a young writer for not knowing about things that happened before she was born. But now there are no editors to help give context to these stories, either.

My local NPR station is lucky as all hell that my donation to the local PBS station includes them in their funding drive.

If I could choose to have my money go specifically to PBS and leave NPR with nothing, I'd take that option in a heartbeat.
