Best description I can make of Bluesky is that it is a Twitter analog divided nigh evenly between joyless people that cannot take anything without dreadfully grave seriousness, and people who are incapable of taking anything seriously.
Memo to Jim Nantz:

The people of Hudsonville would skin you alive, then drag you by your entrails by the back of their trucks, if they EVER heard you saying they were part of Grand Rapids.

There MIGHT be an interesting debate to be had about this topic.

I have zero faith that the current CBS news (or any male dominated media outlet, for that matter) is capable of having it.
"Has feminism failed women brought to you by bank of america" is my MKULTRA sleeper agent activation phrase

As far as the TikTok deal goes, I am relatively TikTok agnostic, in the sense that I really don't trust ANY of the players involved, and have reached the conclusion that all of them are really just scrambling to the give the public the misinformation it's wanted all along.

Outside of the sickening creepiness of it all, I am morbidly curious about how he went about getting these pricing quotes.
Dr Oz: "The creation of a penis costs on average in America $150,000 per child ... if you add testicles, that's extra"

On one hand, I can understand why some are disappointed with how Rep. McBride hasn't been terribly vocal about trans issues and trans rights.

On the other, I can also understand why she would have little to no desire in being America's token trans person.

I'm not one who seeks acclaim and awards (if I did, I probably wouldn't be writing), but I certainly am flattered when I'm nominated, like I was for the Indie Ink Awards for my book "Transcendent: The Girl in the Tomb."

As much as a lot of Americans (and especially American voters) want politics to be local, there's simply no world where that can be expected.

Doctor: I am setting you up for some neurology exams next month.

Me: Listen, I already know my brain is a terrifying place. Do we REALLY need a road map?

There is so much truth condensed into this thread.

If people realized how much "conspiracy" is just stupid people plotting out in the open air, and count on the rest of society not caring or not bothering to pay attention...
you know how occasionally you manage to engineer something you really want, but most of the time you’re just sort of farting around? yeah. so’s everyone. there’s no prize for Least Gullible

One theme I see in people in general (aggressively online or no) is that they tend to be very uninformed and stupid... but hate FEELING uniformed or stupid.

Dear [Insert Name of Upstart Political Organization],

Please stop messaging me through [insert method of contact] here about potentially running for political office. Even if you think that might be a good idea, it's not.

It's almost like America (as a collective mess of an electorate) has a big problem with women (and especially black women) having any ambition whatsoever.

...

Nah, THAT can't be it!
It’s interesting that in January and February, folks loved Jasmine Crockett. And used her as the example of what they wanted Hakeem Jeffries to be, or Kamala Harris to be, etc. But now that Crockett is running for Senate, suddenly those same folks are singing a different tune. 🤔

Ya know... when a man who openly gambled on games was inducted into the Hall of Fame because of the President's influence, yet a man who was only implicated for steroid use gets vehement pushback, it's kinda hard to claim that racism isn't still prevalent in this country.

Every so often, the reality that sometimes there are no heroes in a real life story crashes incompatibly with the desire in our collective monkey brains that there HAS to be.
I'm not going to QT anyone who is part of this dialogue on here, but one of the challenges in discussing the journalistic cock-up that has been playing out in front of us for the last few weeks is recognizing that gender - including how Olivia Nuzzi performed white womanhood - is a big part of it...

Anyone who tries to take all their political cues in 256 character chunks is doing it horribly wrong.

That is all.

Today I learned there is a Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer video game... for the PS5. Like, someone, in 2025, decided THAT was an idea.

I am still processing this information, because every time I try my brain breaks.

To heal our divided nation I propose splitting Game of the Year awards into two categories:

- Game of the Year That’s 3D and You Use a Sword and/or Gun to Explode a Guy
- Game of the Year That’s Some Gay Bullshit Indie Meditation on Grief or Whatever

Now that I've started playing Hades 2, I've got people asking me who my "ships" are.

It's simple. I play Hades 2 like a true Greek god. I'm trying to get into EVERYONE'S pants. Even the beings hate me.

ESPECIALLY the beings that hate me.
