In the 1970s, UK discovered oil/gas in North Sea.

Thatcher onwards, money squandered on tax cuts for corporations/rich. Now ... crisis.

Norway heavily taxed oil/gas. Now, $1.9trn sovereign fund. Its income funds national budget.

Appeasing rich/corporations costs the future.

I want to see the end of neoliberalism and everything it stands for because until we do, we won't live in a world where people matter.

UK govts failing to curb corporate tax abuses.

People forced to pay more for a crumbling infrastructure, and losing hard-won social rights.

The Criminal Finances Act 2017 gave govt powers to prosecute companies for tax evasion.

There have been no prosecutions.

Need people centred govts.
UK governments are failing to curb corporate tax abuses and leaving people to pay the price
Governments remain obsessed with austerity and choose not to inconvenience the rich or curb tax abuses by corporations.

England's NHS leaders ordered to make £7bn cut to healthcare.

6.24m people awaiting 7.46m hospital appointments.

300,000 a year die waiting.

Due to delays 2.8m chronically ill, unable to work.

Govt cutting benefits, rolling back spending.

Misery is a political choice.

Tories to force vote to disapply Human Rights Act in immigration cases

Human rights are universal - if we start stripping away basic human rights from any section of society then none of us has rights- just privileges that can be taken away by people in power when they want

The far right claim to be trying to protect women from grooming gangs. So why do they have such a lousy track record of their own abuse of women and children? My latest piece for @yorkshirebylines.co.uk
😡 Hypocrisy and inaction: exploring the right’s stance on abuse and women’s rights

While far-right politicians claim to champion the protection of abuse victims, their actions often tell a starkly different story

It has been suggested that prosecutors want Mangione to take a plea deal because they’re worried a sympathetic jury could acquit him 👀

Luigi Mangione could face death penalty for killing member of wrong demographic
It only counts as terrorism when the victims are rich white guys...

I fear and loathe and oppose the far right - Trump, Le Pen, Farage & the rest - as much as anyone

BUT I note that it is the "moderate, centrists, so-called grownups" - Biden, Macron, Starmer, Scholz, Trudeau, Albanese - who have enabled GENOCIDE and destroyed international law of war and peace
