This is a friendly reminder that books and reading are metal. 🤘

A story that's taken a long time for me to write is almost done! One final scene - the climax - and then this first draft is complete. It'll need editing, but simply having all the words down will be a relief.

Starting this tonight. 🖤🖤🖤

Yes, I did watch a horror film yesterday! But...I forgot to post it. So, double duty today!

Yesterday, I watched 1999's Stir of Echoes, which I love, and today, I watched 2000's Cut, an Australian slasher starring Molly Ringwald and Kylie Minogue. Very fun!

Today's movie was 1998's The Last Broadcast, and I'm shocked I haven't seen this since I'm a big fan of the found footage genre! I loved the concept and the majority of the film, but that ending was too abrupt for me. I wish it had stuck the landing just a little more.

HUGE NEWS DAY!

We have a new @egallagher.bsky.social SPLIT SCREAM cover to share!

(In lesser news, there's a new T-Swift album! And that is literally all the news.)

Anyway! SPLIT SCREAM: CURSED PLACES! Featuring novelettes from @sonorataylor.bsky.social & @matthewtpritt.bsky.social

April 2026🖤☠️
Cover art: the two illustrations feature a foreboding, wildly framed mirror and a human silhouette in the reflection; and two hands clutching a mysterious organic, vaguely heart-like mass; plus a blurb from M.Shaw.

I can't wait! It'll be so nice to see you.

Day 4 brings us to 1997 and the film Campfire Tales! It's an anthology, and it takes on some truly classic urban legends and tales that I remember from Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and the like. (Content warning for animal death.)

This one is also available on Tubi, friends!

This looks lovely! Wishing you many good words. 🖤

Contrary to popular belief, there are only four kinds of bats.
Illustrated image divided into four panels, each showing a head of a bat with a text label. Top left: little guy, a regular looking back with a dark face and light colored fur, top right: little guy deluxe, a bat with a mask and large ears alongside a bat with a leaf shaped nose, bottom left: what is even going on here, a visored bat with a large forehead next to a bat with a large, wrinkly nose, bottom right: o hi doggie, a fruit bat with its tongue sticking out.

Chicago, I am holding you in my heart. This is disgusting and terrifying.

I truly think Trump is trying to make an example of a big city. That's how it felt in Los Angeles a few months ago. I hate that Chicago is enduring this right now.

Call this shit out. It's not okay.

Oh, I loved it! I feel like I've read a few female serial killer stories recently, so I was afraid it might be a little too familiar, but Kim had me invested. I really like how the story unfolded and the fetishism and many shades of racism were...woof. So well done IMO!

OMG, was Britney's Slave 4 U performance an homage to Salma Hayek in From Dusk Till Dawn?!?! 🤯 I mean...

Day 3! Let's go! Today's retrospective film is From Dusk Till Dawn. I feel like I've seen bits and pieces of this movie (sneaking glimpses on TV as a kid when it first came out) but never the whole thing. I'm ready for desert vamps and the ever-stunning Salma goddamn Hayek!
