The New Garden Society is a non-profit organization that provides therapeutic and vocational horticulture training. In all its endeavors, TNGS partners with host agencies to design and implement programming that supports participants’ wellbeing.
Our most recent screening was of the film Common Ground! It was a hit, and got our students thinking ahead to the possibilities of the coming season.
Do you have a favorite Agriculture related film? Send us your recommendations!

Every donation makes a big difference, whether it amounts to a flat of seedlings, a new tree for our orchards, or a delivery of mulch. Please donate if you can to make our 13th season possible

This holiday season, I urge us all to consider our incarcerated neighbors, and to give to our students, and help make 2026 a bright spot for more of them: www.thenewgardensociety.org/support

These elemental experiences are a necessary antidote to the controlled setting where the students spend their days.”

While we can’t be gardening alongside our students, we can think ahead to next year’s programming. Our gardens behind the prison walls are truly A Garden For All…

Together, we're co-creating gardens that fight mass incarceration by helping our neighbors get out and stay out of prison. Each year, The New Garden Society's gardens rely on generous supporters. So far this winter, 22 people have donated to fund our 2026 season. Will you support students like M?

I ask M how he's been and we get right into it. He just got transferred here and he's critiquing the garden, laying out what could be better, cracking jokes. We craft a plan to fix the tomato trellis and harvest the first of the summer peppers. M is in his last months in prison before going home.

We are proud that our programming is therapeutic as well as vocational. Hope takes root in our gardens - and you can keep those gardens growing. Donate today to provide that oasis to more of your incarcerated neighbors. www.thenewgardensociety.org/support
