Craig McLean, who had been at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for nearly 40 years, spoke out about Sharpiegate, a move that led to serious professional repercussions.

McLean talks to @jackiefmogensen.bsky.social about what he anticipates in Trump’s second term.
I paid the price for speaking out about “Sharpiegate.” Scientists can’t be silent now, either.

It feels like no one should have to say this, and yet we are in a situation where it needs to be said, very loudly and clearly, before it’s too late to do anything about it: The United States is not a startup. If you run it like one, it will break.

“As the only agency that regulates the president, Congress intentionally did not grant the president the power to fire F.E.C. commissioners.”

Would abruptly and unlawfully firing the Federal Election Commission (FEC) Chair make it easier, perhaps, to compromise the integrity of future elections?

But @propublica.org's roundup of 20+ members of Musk's demolition crew shows that it's largely comprised of alleged adults, including Katie Miller (wife of Trump whisperer Stephen Miller)

This new EO sanctions ICC officials investigating U.S. personnel or allies without consent. It’s beyond dangerous because it undermines international justice, risks further isolates the U.S., and weakens accountability for global crimes, eroding the global rule of law.

Reminder once more that the President has ZERO authority to reallocate funds already appropriated by Congress for a particular purpose.

And an unelected billionaire oligarch has even less than ZERO authority to hijack & reallocate funds.

This is a coup. A hostile takeover. A Constitutional crisis.
