Not sure if I'm employed right now because I'm on (approved) annual leave but also my contract expired and the secretary apparently wasn't told about the renewal in time to send the new one before I left

I've noticed tech people sometimes have this weird vendetta against linguists where they like to declare the whole field obsolete by LLMs, driven by their understanding of linguistics just being dictionary compiling and translation
