Still the same Disney Nerd from that other dumpster fire of an app. A Haunted Mansion fanatic, Disney Vinyl Record Preservationist, avid movie collector and Disneyland is vastly superior to Walt Disney World 😉
The episode concludes with the entire "Nutcracker Suite" segment from "Fantasia". Totally bizarre to watch this in black & white and mono sound 😲. I think this episode was a subtle plug for the upcoming rerelease of Fantasia that would hit theatres in 1956 to generate more interest in the film.

A fun segment featuring staff composer Oliver Wallace recreating how music was used with silent cartoons. We are then treated to a brief shot of Mickey Mouse in "Steamboat Willie" (with a new recorded soundtrack?) and "The Skeleton Dance" (a personal favorite of mine). 🧵

Disney Anthology recap time! 70 years ago tonight Walt treated us to "The Story Of The Animated Drawing". A fascinating look back on how animation got it start in prehistoric times, continuing with the creation of film with pioneers J. Stuart Blackton, Winsor McCay and Max Fleischer (and Disney) 🧵

Santa and Mrs. Claus came to the theatre today so of course I HAD to get my photo with them ❤️🎄🎅🤶

Why do I even have Disney+ when I already have the entire Vault of Disney on all of these drives?

Whoops! Accidentally hit the “on” button to the coffee pot and now I have a fresh pot of coffee at 5:30pm instead of 4:30am 😮. Someone won’t be getting any sleep tonight -too expensive to just waste it all since the thermos only holds so much 🤦‍♂️

Disney Anthology recap time! Sadly no new episode to post about this week for 70 years ago we had a RERUN! 😢. Walt treated viewers to a second showing of “Behind The True-Life Cameras (and) Olympic Elk”. But we do have a new show next week to recap so as they say in the biz “tune in next week” 😊

Davy tangles with Mike Fink-"King of the River"-Davy needs to beat Mike in a keelboat race to New Orleans and shenanigans ensue. Tonally this episode is more comedic than the original trilogy, but it is still quite enjoyable. Jeff York as Mike Fink steals the show with his over the top performance

It's Disney Anthology recap time! 70 years ago tonight we ventured back to Frontierland for the first time this season with "Davy Crockett's Keelboat Race". Wait-didn't Davy Crockett die last season? Regardless this is a "legendary" tale about the "King of the Wild Frontier" continuing tales 🧵

Peter Sellers understood the task when it came to writing record album notes for "The Pink Panther"! Classic Sellers all the way!

Happy 85th anniversary to Walt Disney's masterpiece "Fantasia". I ran a special showing this morning at the theatre-of course I ran it in the big auditorium with the Dolby Atmos sound!! It was truly magnificent. It's been 30 years since I saw it last in the theatre-it looked fantastic! 🎥🍿🎶

Today is Rey's (yellow lab) 6th birthday so of course we get a special treat of cupcakes for both her and her "little" sister Leia to enjoy. From the looks of it the birthday cupcakes were a hit. I'm sure Rey would have brought the bowl up and ask like Oliver-"please sir, I'd like some more" 🎂🎁🐕♥️🧁

It's Disney Anthology recap time! 70 years ago tonight Walt took us back to Sherwood Forest to conclude "The Story Of Robin Hood". After a long 7 minute recap of what happened last week (lots of fluff!!) we finally find out how Robin defeats the evil Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham.

Disney Anthology recap time! 70 years ago tonight Walt took us back to merry ol' England with his retelling of "The Story Of Robin Hood". Richard Todd is no Errol Flynn, but he does put a fun spin on the character of Robin. There is a fun segment at the beginning on how the film came to be made.

Happy Halloween! Some of my favorite costume pics from years past with my 2 babies Lilo & Stitch. They never had issues dressing up (unlike the 2 I have now 😂) 🎃👻

You betcha I watched Back To The Future tonight on the 40th anniversary of when Marty travels back in time! I have to say the 4K restored version is flipping FANTASTIC!! Also the ending was restored back to its original form-no more “To Be Continued” tag at the end. It’s the little things 😊

We are treated to the full theatrical version of the classic tale with the Bing Crosby narration and songs fully intact!! This particular episode would be broadcast 3 more times on the original run of the anthology series: 10/30/57, 10/31/65 and 1/25/76 (I guess end of January is just as scary 😂)

Disney Anthology Sunday recap time! 70 years ago tonight we got our 1st proper Halloween themed show! : "The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow", Walt gives us a brief rundown on Washington Irving-or as Walt pronounced it WARSHington 😂. 1st use of new animation on the series to tell the history of Irving. 🧵
