Is there a tool to assess risk of bias that economists commonly use or like?

Most tools I've seen seem to be built around medical studies (whether experimental or quasi-experimental). Some elements seem relevant but many others less so.

Stop worrying about flying to conferences. Most methane released in academia is the direct result of bullshit.

Very dangerous scenes like this are becoming commonplace in DC. Liberals are bringing foreigners onto our streets who are so disrespectful they even spit at Americans. SMH I can see why Trump deployed the national guard

We want to make a board game. It has to be fun and teach economics. That’s our goal when we make podcasts.

But for a game? We need your help!

Give a listen to the latest episode and then tell us what games you love that we should take inspiration from.

My feeling is, if they are memorizing 3 prompts worth of AI output, they have to understand something about it if they're to regurgitate it at exam time.
toddpugatch.bsky.social
The assignment wasn't perfect either -- ideally they could type, or use notes based on their own thinking. But at least I can be sure their work reflected some critical thinking, because they wrote during class while proctored.

Curious if anyone has similar experiences or suggestions! 3/3

One week later, they had to write an essay in class on one of the prompts, chosen by me. No books, notes, devices, or other aids. Just an old-school blue book and pencil or pen.

Results: it went pretty well! Essays weren't perfect, but writing longhand without notes is tough. 2/3

I tried a new class assignment to balance allowing students to use AI while also promoting critical thinking.

For my "Current Economic Problems" course, I gave students 3 essay prompts. They could use AI to prepare. 1/2
