I'm doing the same! I chose a different desk than usual and the light's are more stubborn from this position. Normally I can just wave but I'm having to stand up today.

I haven't seen Maximum Overdrive for a good 30 years so my theory is based purely on vibes rather than a close reading of the text. A fun film though

my theory is that those films are all set in the far future of the film Maximum Overdrive (1986)

yeah, totally, I've already spent my money on minis, I can get a whole new game for £15! And crucially I can easily get it to the table, at least once or twice, I only need one other person, and not a repeat commitment.

If you're buying £100 of miniatures £15 on rules isn't that big a deal?

I don't think there's anything wrong with the original board. It's fine. My aim was to 1. make it feel a bit more like an artefact of the time, like a real map, and 2. decrease the visual noise and increase the contrast between the board and the player components

A really neat site looking at mode share in differences across cities, it doesn't really try to assess how good a transport system is other than implicitly (by usage) but you can see the same pattern of US cities being terrible for both public transport and active travel

I imagine the vehicles per population measure will tend to undervalue trains in relation to busses so other rankings are likely to result from different measures. Though US cities will still suck.

It's been replaced by Anajanna's now, the owner of which worked under Mrs Geeta and still does decent Masa Dosa (and is still better thanVijays which is also pretty good) but not as good and nowhere near as cheap. Seriously you could get absolutely stuffed full of amazing food for a fiver.

Oh hold on, I guess the "Fate and Fortune" thing means it's a different thing than the main Take A Break mag I remember from the waiting rooms of my youth

Has it always been like this? Haven't opened a copy for 15-20 years or so but I don't remember much demon stuff back then

I thought this was a great piece that (among other things) suggests why adding complexity to the Traitors might not work with the mainstream UK audience...

Can't speak to specifics for Crime and Punishment but I usually go for the Oxford World Classics version for old stuff in translation. Good notes etc. and just a generally more pleasant reading experience than Wordsworth editions
