Man in his 40s drives a minivan and works in tech. Professional small talk haver. I like Huskers, KC sports, soccer, weather, and other very random topics.
Trying to teach my teenage child the concept of suspension of disbelief so that he stops asking a bunch of questions when we're watching movies

I don't know why professional sports coaches and athletes are always like "I don't care what Internet nerd is posting from Mom's basement". Dude, those are 40 yr old men with season tickets and disposable income to buy jerseys and stuff. Maybe don't upset too many of them.

There's so many folks on that other site that have many off the wall posts and beliefs. How many people in real life do I know that have serious paranoias or delusions? Maybe 1 or 2? But there's a half dozen posts on the for you/explore in just a minute scrolling that have me worried for humanity.

When people are like "I just can't eat that (fast food place or type of food), it doesn't agree with me" I'm like sorry you have the constitution of a 10 week old, I'm just built different

More European coded things happening here. Since the beginning of the NFL and NCAA CFB seasons, I've watched approximately 50% more soccer than football on TV. My anxiety levels are much lower watching my favorite soccer teams than football teams for some reason.

Hey, is that actress who plays Wonder Woman, Gal

This Saturday morning, I woke up when I felt like it without an alarm. I had a coffee and pastry at a local cafe and then played soccer in the park with my kids. Am I European?

North of Kansas City, Missouri. I've literally never seen anything like this in person.

Can someone watching the Nebraska versus UCLA game tell me why the clocks stopped when it looked like the player was tackled out of bounds backwards?

Phone cameras need a leaf peeping mode. One where the result of the picture looks a little bit more like what your eyes see during fall.

I think a lot of people have been saying that this will be an exciting playoff matchup once again in Buffalo in January. But I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that the Chiefs make the playoffs at this point. Third in the AFC West and basically have to win what, 6 or 7 of 8?

In my lifetime, I'm usually obsessed with one sport/league at a time. It's gone from soccer, baseball, NFL, NBA, NHL, then college football, then back to NFL, MLB, NFL again, now mostly Premier League/MLS. I can't stick with more than one because I try to really deep dive.

Yay, I win the argument with my friends that Rhule is the problem, not Raiola. And that Lateef won't fix things. Hurray.

Maybe taking a timeout just to yell at the refs wasn't the best way to use it

I bought these dark swimming goggles from target for 8 or 9 bucks in 1997 ish. They just broke yesterday at an indoor water park. Bought this new pair today from target for 14 bucks. I hope it lasts me 25-30 years as well.

Using the work copilot to ask somewhat dumb questions, using my home copilot to ask profoundly stupid questions, using gemini to ask the most inane, off the wall crap

Re: Matt Rhule, why would Penn State want him? Like for real. He's done some program rebuilding, but to take a team from pretty good to national contention is an unknown. Other than just him being an alumnus, what would be the point?

I enjoy interacting with humans to discuss sports opinions about teams and games I have interest in. In person there's about 70% of people who are sane and reasonable. On the Internet, it's like 0.005%. Bots or brain worms, I'm not sure what the problem is.

Just one of many reason I love my wife. We're chilling at home watching the 1993 AFC Divisional playoff game where Joe Montana led the Chiefs to an amazing comeback victory. We had to find it after she saw the "Martyball" book at the library and has been reading it.

Just got back from all the kids activities so this is the first chance I've had to watch the Arsenal highlights from today. If there's one team I would be okay giving Arsenal a hard time it's Olympiacos. Though I'm no fan of pyrrhic victories, I'm proud of my fellow Greeks.

In honor of approaching spooky season, a joke from one of my children.

What do you call a ghost that's just a floating nose?

Nobody nose.
