I also learnt that the ill fated Amiga CD32 was announced in that very Science Museum (and that it was "popular in Europe", for some definition of popular I suppose).

Monkey Island (🐒🏝️ for short) randomly spotted today in a London museum...

...Twice !?!

- 🐒🏝️ 2 Special Edition is playable in the Power Up exhibition at The Science Museum

⚠️ TR-49 -- an archive of books that don't exist ⚠️

We began investigating through a simple prototype - before we built the machine.

The "game" has moved far, far beyond this now. But the old prototype is "playable".

You may find it revealing.

Yes, build one this weekend! 🙂
Also did you know it supports screen mirroring and has a cool web UI ? Watch the presentation video I apparently made way too late :)

I found out why the Tinytron assembly video has 10x more views than the demo video :)

Tiny Little TV Runs On ESP32
Few of us keep big old cathode ray tubes in the house anymore, but we can still appreciate the form factor of the classic TV. Indeed, the Tinytron from [t0mg] is a neat little tchotchke in this vei…

I don't know if I'll ever beat the amount of over engineering I've put in the Jackal project. This ain't it for sure. However, this one is my most over-engineered GitHub repository so far:

- auto firmware build on push (both OTA and factory ones)
- auto website deploy on push (GitHub pages)

I'll be hosting a panel at Adventure X about how I took it when Jon thought of me for voicing a pedantic character with a french accent.

Today is the day to tell a strange story.

The long version we'll tell later, but the short version is this. In an attic, in his late great-uncle's house, @jon.inkle.co found a locked trunk. It took twenty years to open. Last summer he did.

Inside was a wiring diagram, and a stack of books.

I just want to put this out into the universe.

If you are a homebrew developer of a GB, GBC, GBA, NES, SMS, MD/Genesis, N64, or PS1 game with a free version or a free demo of you game, I’d love to ship it with SuperStation as a physical or digital demo disk.
This is a very impressive PS1 game by @eliasdaler.bsky.social running on SuperStation.

🎹🔴 Twas oddly difficult to find a free, web based MIDI recorder + player for my spouse's piano sessions.

So I made t0mg.github.io/midi-recorder 100% from my phone with Gemini (AI Studio + jules.google.com), GitHub, svgomg and inline editing.

A bit of a meta experiment, with a tangible outcome 🎶

Hear me out: a highly accurate fiction film set in the 1990 Atari/Amiga coding scene. No mainstream producer would produce that. But a crowd of nerds just might.

Sure it's in French but if you contribute enough there will be subtitles 😏

I asked Gemini to decrypt the redacted tagline in @mrsambarlow.bsky.social's Project D (store.steampowered.com/app/2640200/...).

The response is obviously hallucinated (there is no such text in P.T.) but I'm very puzzled by how eerily specific it feels given that I gave zero context. Kinda spooky!

After Expelled came out we looked around for our next project, considering mechanical successors to Highland, 80 Days, Heaven’s Vault…

… and settled on a design that looked “simple”, has a completely new-to-us-anyway loop and narrative architecture.

It wasn’t simple :(

Made a lil puzzle treasure chest for an event.

An Arduino monitors 8 reed switches under the lid, triggered by the 🧩s (plywood top + MDF mid layer to hold a magnet + iron-on edge banding).

When placed in the expected order a tiny servo unlatches the box! Nobody noticed the Easter egg tune though 😛
