Batting 10, for the first time in nearly two decades of junior & senior cricket, I hit the winning runs in a game

Ming Campbell was a dedicated public servant and a true Liberal giant.

His principled leadership opposing the Iraq War was a mark of his morality, courage and wisdom.

But more than that, he was an incredibly warm and caring friend and colleague.

We will miss him terribly.

I mean, it is a FAFO poll so I don't much believe it, but... 🎉

It will be a week before Starmer comes out with a mealy-mouthed response too

Literally just been to London at the invitation of the literal fucking King.

Fuck Trump. Fuck the USA.

Trump to the UN: "I have to say, I look at London where you have a terrible mayor -- terrible terrible mayor -- and it's been so changed, so changed. Now they want to go to Sharia Law ... both their immigration and their suicidal energy ideas will be the death of Western Europe."

It just straightforwardly *insane* how much political chatter in the United Kingdom is about the next general election, an event that is a long way in the future, and how basically none of it is about 'uh, this policy agenda doesn't look adequate to the scale of the inherited problem'.

Until McSweeny gets sacked, I think. Which probably isn't before they take a pasting in the next local elections

Shot, chaser

Young men more likely to vote Green than Reform. Young men second most progressive group of any demographic. Combined right-wing vote barely bigger than Green vote alone for young men

I don't know about the 'woke mind virus' but I think there is an 'X mind virus' and it has infected a lot of people!

With McCullum in charge of England I reckon he's safe for a while yet. Doesn't really fit the 'Bazball vibe'

If it was going to be by geography it would probably be an East Mids team, though given Derbs, Leics and Northants are financially small I don't know if they could professionalise at the same rate

I know Labour has precendent for governing like this in the 1960s but really who had the way Starmer is governing actually in mind when they voted Labour in 2024. One of the reasons this is so depressing is nobody wanted this, we rejected it in 2024, and got it anyway
