Q: Have you given any more thought to possibly suspending habeas corpus?

TRUMP: Suspending who?

Q: Habeas corpus

TRUMP: I don't know. I'd rather leave that to Kristi.

Ramones played the University of B.C. campus in Vancouver, Canada, in 1980, the same year Tennessee Williams became a writer in residence on campus. (Alas, the events were several months apart.) @raxkingisdead.bsky.social

When Babe Ruth's future adopted daughter, Julie Ruth Stevens, was born in 1917, he had only seven career home runs to his name. She lived long enough to see him hit 714, Henry Aaron hit 755 and Barry Bonds hit 762. She also lived long enough to witness Shohei Ohtani's rookie season.

Two men convicted of fraud over allegations from the $300-million redevelopment of Toronto’s St. Michael’s Hospital.

My colleagues first uncovered the procurement issues of this project a decade ago. Investigative journalism is a long-term commitment.

Hopefully the whole Bari Weiss thing and Ezra Klein thing starts waking people up to the fact that corporate media is mostly populated with mediocre people who have made millions and gained unbelievable influence because they threaten nothing and tell wealthy people exactly what they want to hear.

Genuinely incredible how unprofessional these guys are. One dude yelling in your face and you immediately assault them on camera?

Federal officer blasts chemical spray into vocal but nonviolent Portland protester, video shows

The interaction illustrates how federal law enforcement officers do use aggressive tactics against protesters who yell and needle officers but don’t appear to present clear physical threats.

Dude, no living Soviet leaders were depicted on currency.

Nazi Germany put Hindenburg, not Hitler, on its coins.

Fascist Italy put King Victor Emmanuel III, not Mussolini, on its coins.

Only two-bit fascists like Franco were insecure enough to place their own image on coins.

Privately hoping that someone in Canada's vast Ukrainian diaspora will read about the need for Ukrainian-language Harry Potter books in at the school library in Pavlohrad, and decide to fill that gap...

Life, death - and just carrying on - in a Ukrainian city as the war gets closer.

A week in the life of Pavlohrad, a city bracing for its turn on the frontline if Pokrovsk, an hour's drive to the east, falls.

My report, with amazing photography by @olgaivashchenko.bsky.social
This Ukrainian city isn’t on the front lines yet. If that changes, everything changes
Pavlohrad is bracing for the day it turns into another Mariupol or Bakhmut. The Globe went there to see how locals feel – and what hard choices they might face if the Russians come

"Globalist" has long been used by the white power movement to signify a Jewish conspiracy to eliminate the white race. It sometimes means something less alarming, like opposing the UN, worrying about cosmopolitanism, etc, but that's not who this meme is for. This meme is bread & butter racism.

Last night, the ADL took down its "Glossary of antisemitism" which included an entry for the term "globalist," describing it as a far-right codeword for Jews.

Hours later, the official DHS account authors a post with a common far-right meme, saying that "globalists" will be denied entry to the US.

For those who are unawares, the Commander of NORAD is always an American and has operational control of Canadian NORAD forces.

That's not just some thing that we do. It's a treaty-level agreement.
