I work in TV on things like the World Rallycross Championship and Sky Sports, and am also a Bikeability instructor, I love cycling and cars but hate car dependency.
That's probably the result of ordering some rare type of stone that they find is no longer available. Best IMO to stick to readily available stone from the country the road is in. Even Lancashire gritstone looks nice.

"Historic railings" - yeah, historic if you mean installed in the last 10-30 years. maps.app.goo.gl/M7AXzkt9uZ6X... Historic would be wrought-iron and not bolted together.

Yeah they just don't want the hassle. But they're perfectly within their rights to remove overgrowth, chuck it back over the fence, and charge them.

If someone at CEC has told you that, they're wrong. They can remove anything overhanging their property, and they can charge whoever owns it too. All they have to do is chuck it back over once cut. But the A556 is all soil from the neighbouring fields.

Emailed them earlier today. Requested siding-in clearance from the A556 footway between Plumley Moor Road and the M6 junction. 50% of it is covered in soil. Would also enable an alternate route to Pickmere Lane, which is currently closed due to a missing bridge.

FGS put the flags away. We don't need them to be reminded where we live.

They've likely used taxpayer funds to do it so why should we pay.

I think my next move would be to make a complaint to the ICO. ico.org.uk/make-a-compl... If they've undertaken this count on their own behalf (rather than in advance of say, a housing development where the developer then wants that data), it seems cheeky to deny.

That hospital has barely any active travel infrastructure leading to it, which surely would be a better way of reducing congestion. There aren't even any controlled pedestrian crossings on the roundabout nearby. The footpath running past it is a persistently muddy track and doesn't connect.

That's an interim highways scheme with a lot of compromises (mostly due to pedestrian traffic). Long-term it needs a placemaking scheme with a more holistic view of the area. Look at Kingsway in Stretford now - not perfect, but an enormous improvement on the 1960s motorway it was.

My current deal with virgin for 125 broadband - 58 quid a month. New customers are offered 1 gig for 31 quid. Virgin are offering me 1 gig for 75 quid.
This is how Virgin treat existing customers - like cash cows.

Crap like this. maps.app.goo.gl/yZmaExVEmha1... why are turning vehicles more important than pedestrians?
