It’s easy to say that this is the last desperate hurrah of a dying party, but can we be clear: Trump’s ICE agents are literally kidnapping people, detaining them without due process in concentration camps (yes, this is the right term) and 1000s have disappeared. These are fascist practices.

We are in the foothills of a solar-wind-battery civilisation. This is our best chance of avoiding catastrophe. But it threatens the profits of fossil fuel companies & nations - so these are pouring money into right-wing populism to stop the transition. This seems to me the biggest story in politics.

I think Germany knows what could happen, because of the past... in Britain people are in denial, they think it couldn't possibly happen here. Just bizarre. It can happen anywhere, as history shows.

I still have not cruised past Judge Young's ruling in American Association of University Professors v. Rubio. This 89-year-old Reagan appointee zeroes in the most horrifying reason why ICE must be abolished: www.courtlistener.com/docket/69784...

Small wonder ICE often seems to need our respected military to guard them as they go about implementing our immigration laws. It should be noted that our troops do not ordinarily wear masks. We always used to do that in school. A half hour of reading, no excuses. Also, teacher reading us an exciting adventure book on Friday afternoons (primary school). Also, if you had finished the task given to you and were sitting with nothing to do, you had to read a book.
