Replacement belts used to be so expensive as well.

Got lots of help on Spectrum For Everyone and ended up with a partially less broken Spectrum but still needs a new ULA unfortunately. Parts are going to work out about 3 times what I paid for the Spectrum in the end! 🤣. Quite chuffed I made progress and didn't make it worse anyway. #zxspectrum

Continues to look amazing, very exciting for Next owners. Can't help thinking the muted colours on the hud are a nod to your C64 background though!

Imagic did some cracking 2600 games, the only thing I didn't like about them was their cartridge design. If you stacked carts you couldn't read the end of their carts like all the others!

Great article. I'm of the even older ways of text adventures on the Spectrum, and they haven't died either, people still knocking out very interesting games to this day for the 8-bit machines and beyond. I've just started to play some old z-machine titles to see where it really all began.

Ireland offer a little bit of support to those in the Arts here now. There's a grant, the BIA (Basic Income for the Arts) that pays €325 a week to artists. No idea if your fine branch of the arts is covered but it would be great (if unlikely) to see the UK offer something similar.

Having just watched one of your vids on YouTube, I am not surprised you went all in on the type in! High production values, they must take hours with all the costume changes, script, editing etc. I'll be subscribing anyway, they're quite, erm, unique!

Ah ha, maybe I should pace myself and start with the 2 pager then. Thanks for going to all the effort anyway, same goes for all the other lads who work on Breakspace. A proper Spectrum magazine, for FREE!

Going to have a crack at typing this in today. My first type-in since the 80s, cheers!

A general horsey dressage question if you don't mind, and if you know. As a soldier the slow march was way more tiring than a quick march, just wondering is this precise kind of movement more tiring for the horse and do they fatigue quickly after these kinds of exercises?

Such a lovely bird, have never seen one irl. We have a wren in our overgrown bushes by our shed and it's pure joy every time we see it. My eldest got me a bird spotting book for my birthday and I love seeing them in my garden/fields around us, seeing a redpoll in our garden last year my highlight.

I still use composite on a couple of my Spectrums, still gives a good enough picture for me.
