There is nothing in most games that stops you from just staring at the wall. Actually a lot of environment artists due this. I'm not sure they are reaching a zen state.

Some games do let you just sit and stare out over locations (the fantastically beautiful Star Wars Outlaws let's you do this)

I think when a video closes it should get smaller and the audio should halve in volume and go up an octave. You'd have to close them like three or four times before they disappear.

I could see gameplay set after a war of mecha and people just vibing as they adjust to peaceful world with a bunch of mecha around and figuring out what they could be useful for.

In wartime all mecha might be called up and users would get general issue guns. Although I'm sire the procurement process would allow users to buy their own equipment.
