It’s also pretty much nonsense because the voters cluster in certain demographic groups. Which the original poster obviously knows, but, you know, that’s accuracy when there’s engagement to farm?

That’s too generous: they didn’t even google the couple to verify even one fact.

I’d have thought target audience for Mario Kart is 35+ year old professionals who played it in their youth and now have more disposable income than they do time.

Yeah but it took us a season more in the prem to get to the 99, so you are comfortably winning on wins per season...

My experience is that the reverse is true: pension funds and insurance companies have very long outlooks and/or have to internalise climate risk through payouts.

Fossil fuel company senior management bonuses and stock options incentivise the <10 year profit maximisation more directly.

As per James O'Brien: Do the gesture in your office to your boss, or down the pub and see how people react.

Yeah and the "Musk gesture ignites social media speculation" type reporting which seems to require amazing mental gymnastics to avoid calling a spade a spade. We are literally watching the deterioration of institutions and decades of social and political norms before our very eyes.

It's a highly effective "flood the zone" approach: Do so much, so quickly, that it's almost impossible to keep up with it all and any one thing that does get focussed on, means many more things are slipping through without meaningful checks.

There was/is also a subdivision in the PMC between those whose career is supported by social media and those who just enjoy it. Typically the former say things like "look, I get as much reach as twitter, isn't Blue Sky great" and the latter just wanted a nice place to be.

I think a lot of people go through that phase and after a few weeks they are bored of it and return to whatever it is they normally do on social media. Just wait it out and ignore for a bit.

I'd love to hear your views on this stealth NIMBY proposal from Southwark that seems to substantially restrict the ability for residents to extend their properties with dormers or mansards. engage.southwark.gov.uk/en-GB/projec... Local hot take: www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/353108...

I'd go a step back even: affordable childcare and a school/care system that is designed around two parents working. Part of the reason people are waiting longer for children is simply economics.

“A region better known for centrist politics”…?! Oh dear. Show me a columnist in the Westminster bubble without telling me.

Isn’t this a legacy of the ‘pasty tax’ debate, and the same reason you Greggs food is ‘cooling’ from a recent bake rather than served ‘hot’? en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasty_tax

I love how they get called “villagers” like this is somewhere quaint in the Cotswolds and not Zone 3 North London.

I suspect criticising the Starmer government from the left but audience collapse unless there is a major policy u-turn in the next ~12 months (akin to Lib Dems and tuition fees). Pivot to hating reform would be counter productive, bringing them into the debate more than they deserve.
