Built in 1960, the facility was in need of modernization—this year, Cook County partnered with Park Forest  through our Build Up Cook program to support these community-identified needs. Now, the facility has an exceptional training environment to support the Southland's firefighters.

The Forest Hill Flyover marks real progress for our region’s rail network. This 3-mile elevated corridor in Chicago’s Ashburn neighborhood eliminates one of the most congested rail bottlenecks in the nation, improving reliability for both commuters & freight.
