I took this photo two years ago in Aldi, Huddersfield. It has always intrigued me and I wonder what case of beer was selected. Also did they abandon ALL their groceries, or just £11.99 worth. If the latter, what could they not relinquish? Toilet paper and pizza perhaps?

I am guessing this is from Temu? I have been considering getting one of these for a while, so I would be interested in what you think of it.
I made my own from a bug zapper and a sieve. It works reasonably well, but I keep electrocuting myself on it. I really should insulate the edge of the sieve.

A day of not much visible progress on the modellbahn, but I did make a shelf for my z21 and Roco router. I have a VERY old iPad that is hardly any use for anything due to out of date software, but incredibly the Z21 App works on it.

Attending a concert in Halifax Minster last night and rather than stand in the cold we repaired to the adjacent Ring O Bells pub. What a great find! Nice beer selection, great atmosphere and friendly folks!

I have taken a break from track laying and built myself a small goods shed. Generally very pleased with the end result. The roof is fine sandpaper cut into strips and painted dark grey to mimic roofing felt. Tomorrow I should do some ballasting, but…😕

A benefit of the current 'irregular' nature of trains at Huddersfield is that it allows time at The Head of Steam at the station. Despite what it says on the glass, my choice was an Obi Wan Cannoli Stout. A little too sweet for me, but I managed to force it down.

Bought this in Aldi yesterday for £8.99. Put a cushion on it and it is absolutely fantastic for moving around under my layout changing the wiring.

I have increased the depth of my 2nd baseboard to 900mm. This is the maximum that is comfortable to stretch across. I now have the concept of a plan for a totally new track layout.

The rewiring of my baseboards continues. I have decided to fit 'snubbers' to both ends of my DCC BUS. Some say that no DCC BUS should be without these, others that their effect is marginal at best, but they don't do any harm.

So my plan was to drink one can per day, but I am not working tomorrow so here we are! I really don’t know what demographic this beer is targeted at, not me for sure. Had this been £3+ I would have walked on by, but it is lovely. More a summer BBQ than late October though.

Considering the outrageous prices charged for ‘craft beer’ these days, imagine my delight in finding a local supplier that offers beer at ‘how many cases can I get in car’ prices. Latest offers 4 x 440cl for £5,12 x 33cl for £10. Leeds Pale is not fine dining, but thirst quenching delight!

At £4 per can in our local Coop, I was expecting something a bit special. It was special alright, but not in a good way. I genuinely cannot remember the last time I had a beer this bad! My only hope is perhaps this was a bad can and it is not supposed to taste like it did.
