Living with Parkinson's since 2015, Ambassador for World Parkinson's Congress. Advocating for PWPs on a global scale. Parkinson's chose me? It chose the wrong person!
Kate Wilkinson.
I have taken Tony’s post to highlight the important role carers play in enabling the PWP to live a better life through the support we give and which we ourselves often fail to recognise. See clip.

We had a good journey up to Dublin, a certain someone snuck into the rucksack for the trip. At the weekend gone, I rang many of the TDs and senators from Cork. Inviting them to the NAI meeting tomorrow in the AV room in Leinster House. This evening, we went to the Savoy cinema to see

Good morning. It's good to be here on the bluesky Social Media platform. It was not a difficult choice as I personally found the other platform toxic. All I'm looking for is a safe, open, honest place that I a person living with Parkinson's can share safely and without prejudice.

NEW RESEARCH.
It's a very interesting article, and it shows how when you look deeper into exciting treatments for Parkinson's, you can find other uses to treat the same condition.

A YEAR AGO TODAY.
My phone threw these pics at me this morning from a year ago. Kevin Quaid and I were talking to 3rd year medical students at University College Cork (UCC). It is part of the course to have people with lived conditions approach the topics of diagnosis of a

Today, I wanted to mark the momentuse event happening across the pond, in a way I'll always remember. Found it. We loaded the car with our recycling and household waste. At the local amenities site, we have 4 sacks of rubbish for the crusher.

PRAYED FOR HUMANITY, MORALITY, KINDNESS, AND OUR PLANET.
This morning, I lit a candle of hope, knowing that millions are petrified of the coming event on Monday.
I was once told
"It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness." I chose to light a candle.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
To my darling wife Kate, I'm truly blessed in having Kate in my life. Kate helps many people living with Parkinson's and runs a quarterly meeting for carers, and a lot more, which is greatly appreciated.
As a treat, I booked lunch at Hayfield Manor.

ACT OF KINDNESS.
A large gritter lorry came along our lane, not on his schedule, stopped at the top of our drive. The driver walked up to our front door, knocked, and delivered a sack of road salt. This was a lovely act of kindness.
In late 2019, his father, who had Parkinson's, passed away.

John, I understand where you are coming from. The new community is still growing, and as the other platforms follow X, this will become a stampede. Bluesky will not become an academic platform only. Many like myself will find you and each other.
Social media should not be the wild West.

Hi, we have winter snow in the UK and Rep of Ireland. If we are honest, we're not good at winter weather compared to the rest of Europe, we grind to a halt with a few cm.
In the early 80s, the TV series "Hill Street Blues" was a favourite. The desk Sgt, Phil Esterhaus,

CHRISTMAS TO NEW YEAR CHALLENGE.
Over this festive period, I gave myself the challenge of contacting radio stations across the 26 counties of the Rep Ireland. I achieved 18 counties. All are sending the same message to PWPs, carers, and those with neurological conditions.

HAPPY NEW YEAR.
2024 was a quiet year for us, believe it or not. I had to drop a few things, and my main focus was on advocating for Parkinson's and neurological conditions. The highlight of the year was becoming an AMBASSADOR for the World Parkinson Congress, I'm hugely honoured to be 1 of 16
