On one hand I'd add firmware updates as a legit use case. On the other hand they wouldn't need any if they didn't connect to the internet or use Bluetooth etc

They're talking about Argentina having a lot of oil - what I think Ben is implying is that it explains why Milei was being supported by Trump and Musk. At least, I thought it was weird that Milei was suddenly appearing in the media along with them. They're saying they need a populist which Milei is.

I hear stories of people doing remote interviews and clearly using ChatGPT while in the interview. Heard some of them from pretty reliable sources so I am willing to believe it happens. What a time to be alive huh

To be clear, the previous post sounds like I'm saying they destroyed this footage intentionally. That could be the case, but it could also simply be the result of the fact that this document wasn't written by an IT person but by a lawyer. Everyone has their own expertise: hence the contractor.

I'm in IT and "irretrievably destroyed" doesn't sound right to me to begin with. After all, these systems are designed to store security video data! It shouldn't be easy to destroy this data irretrievably unless you actually intend to do it, and even then there could be backups somewhere.

Either it's irretrievably destroyed or an IT person can look into retrieving it. It can't be both, right?

I know nothing about natsec but surely spying has literally actually always been illegal and severely punishable in any country... I mean say you catch someone spying, what are you going to do: send them on their way with a stern talking-to? That doesn't jibe with what little I know about history.

I am not under any illusion that the executive branch wouldn't try to influence a vote - I'm saying if true these theatrics and the resources being employed make it skirt/cross the line into authoritarianism. This isn't politics, it's straight up intimidation. Well, attempted intimidation anyway.

In a low quality font like this, used by a bad designer, you can sometimes see where the letters don't quite match up and that too is glaring once you start to notice.

Absolutely. You can tell it's a font, too. It's designed to match up no matter which characters you choose so the edges/ends of the letters are going to be square. Calligraphers don't do that, they'll typically make the letters on the ends of the words end nicely - probably not just squared off.

Instead I'm imagining someone modding this thing to try and raise their children. Sure is a good thing it can't be done because if it could, it would be BLEAK
