Long time coming. The House of Representatives passed an amendment to an annual defense bill one year ago that would have outlawed this. The Senate did not. When the bills were merged in a backroom deal, the amendment vanished. This happened while Schumer led the Senate, but after Trump won.

Reading Powers and Thrones and Medieval history and it’s wild how crusades went from Christians getting their butt kicked in the levant to calling everything a crusade to justify power grabs.
