Is he saying that some Weimar Republic Antifans are still at it; after more than 100 years? 85 years is probably closer to a truth, but still a shocking development!

He's definitelysome sort of very sleepy reptilian life form; with those lizard eyes and tiny little forepaws. At times, especially as he slouches across the lawn to his helicopter, he reminds me of Fraudzilla: a hulking barely sentient beast, slouching towards his Bethlehem.

Pamnesia, I love that name.

A most unctuous and supine man, his emblem of merit is to supplicate himself before his superiors, and do whatever low odious business they desire.
Anyone, that is anyone without a soul, could do his job: a concierge for the white mediocrity.

… to 59 Cit/49 Hwy. One feature is I can now drive from LA to SF on 1 tank (<9 G).
Plus, as I live in an apartment w/out off street parking, an EV vehicle becomes problematic.
topiltzin.bsky.social
Yes, that is killer. Though I wonder about the long term cost of the battery & the slow erosion of all the electronics. An EV is now an iPhone on wheels.
Time will tell I imagine.

I now drive a Honda Civic Hybrid, and have improved mileage from +/- 29 mpg overall in old Honda …

I saw a Director's cut of "L. A. Confidential" at the Academy; afterwards, in conversation (with/ the audience), James Ellroy, author of the book, said the film was better than his book, saying approximately, "they cut out all my pretentious bullshit".
I've loved that unloveable author ever since.

My Father in Law's life stretched from before the automobile until after the Moon Landing.

I've (so far) gone from the founding of the CIA, NSA, SAC, and Joe McCarthy to ICE, RFK, Jr., Stephen Miller, DJT. In other words, I've gone in a big circle from McCarthyism to Trumpism. Less Than Zero.

Maybe we need a museum of Tyrants or Wannabee Tyrants.
Give Trump the Caesar Salad Award, or something like that.

Who will last longer, the Donald or this Caesar Salad?

As we can see, the War in Portland is Hell....look, even the roosters are up in arms (wings?)

Amy McGrath should pay us (the Democrats who wasted our money on her prayers) back for the $100 million that could have actually helped win a few other seats.
Egos are too big, narcissism is rampant, and the sort of individual, "only I" can do it mentality is overwhelming our democracy. Please don't

This is a self imposed casualty. This Farmer very literally does not want to know any truth, any facts, any understanding of the real and political factors that are at work.

This is a very good statement of the cost of Republicans' Bill:

If they really wanted to pass it (& own it) they could do that with their own votes. But they want a few Democratic votes, so they can pretend it's a bi-partisan compromise. But it's not.

So, are Republicans ready to own their Bill?

This is a great video. Credit where credit is due.

“No fucking way!” (The text is bleeped but the audio is not.)

It’s one of the strongest bits of public communication I have seen from Dem leadership since Jan.

The government is shut down because Trump and the Republicans are hellbent on taking health care away from you.

And they won’t even come to the table to talk to us about it.

This is not about politics. It's about people.

Let’s break it down:

Common Sense + Decency Within the Supreme Court would answer that question: "No, the president can't knowingly turn the military upon our people with lies & distortions, not to mention "contrived facts".
For 1 thing: there's no such thing as a "contrived fact"; if it's contrived, it can't be a fact.

In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

“Can presidents unleash the armed forces on their own people based on facts that they contrive?” Stephen Vladeck asks in a guest essay. “The text of the relevant statutes doesn’t answer that question. But our constitutional ideals, to say nothing of common sense, should.”
Opinion | No, Trump Can’t Order Troops to Wherever He Wants
The president’s claims about cities don’t hold up.

I think the billionaires all misunderstood the point of Jonathon Swift's 1792 essay "A Modest Proposal". Swift's essay suggests that poor people in Ireland could ease their economic troubles by selling their children as food to the elite.

This sounds like a Curtis Yarvin proposal for our times.

. . . & acting (Benicio Del Toro, Sean Penn, and Leo DiCaprio)…none as Stars, all as intensely watchable character actors; reminds me of the 70’s films (of Robert Altman, Arthur Penn, a pinch of Tarantino); not even to mention the musical score. . . Did I mention how funny it is?

I loved this film, "One Battle After Another". It’s a marvel, on so many levels. The first 20 minutes were a bit confusing to me, as to time, place, who, what, but soon enough it all starts to make sense due to the precision of the rest of the film: great cinematography . . . >
