Opened twitter for the first time in a few days and immediately stumbled upon this t/b tagging discourse.
Sometimes I think I’m opinionated when it comes to storytelling or writing, then I see what people get riled up about online.

But for real, what’s the point of this change? It’s not even scary, it’s boring. It doesn’t add anything new, just confirms what players already know. For what? To pat them on the back for “understanding the game’s message”?

My unhinged opinion :
Designing a scene that allows reinterpretation after the player completes the story once is an artistically superior choice to altering it.

So usually I don’t read warnings. And if I do get triggered while reading (which hasn’t happened yet), that’s 100% on me.
That’s why I don’t like having these warnings shoved in my face like this. I think they should be hidden by default but easy to access for anyone who wants to read them.

I usually avoid fic with this kind of intro, because there are only two possibilities: really good or really bad. Usually the latter. Just no in-between.
Sometimes I think an intro like this triggers my brain into “(good) commercial fic mode” and that never works out in the author’s favor
