I've been quiet, but busy. Still packing, signing and shipping a ton of Cummoner books, also sliding deeper and deeper into my 2025 midlife crisis. Got another bass guitar- an inexpensive 5-string to try out the idea of a wider range.
Also started my journey with linux, which is a rabbit hole.

V jumps the whole staircase, acrobatic guy slides down the railing with flare, tiny Jinx takes every step carefully, huge heavy guy runs down two steps at a time. It's kinda absurd that this is the scene I remembered the best

I thought of it today watching Dandadan with my breakfast. Okarun (being short) having to carefully step over a hole in the floor, while Jiji (tall and super-fit) just walked over it, half-asleep. But my favourite example is one of the first Arcane episodes with teen-thieves escaping justice.

One of my favourite little details in animation are different characters doing the same thing. A good example is traversal, where each hero would jump a gap or evade an obstacle in a different way, befitting their fitness, body build and personality.

We finally saw Kpop Demon Hunters! Loved it. I wish it was a full musical, but I recognize not every movie will be a musical until I'm actual king of the world.
I don't "get" the kpop/idol/star theme, but it didn't stop me liking the movie. Though I probably missed a few juicy jokes or winks.

Why should I write better when a machine can do it for me?
Because actually no one can do it for you, because your voice is unique among all the people on earth. Siri never petted a horse's neck. Alexa has never been ghosted by the captain of the football team. But you have lived, your heart is beating, you have suffered, and you have something important to say. It's a human's job, to use words, and whatever job you give to a machine, that part of your brain goes dark. Maybe it's worth it when it comes to remembering phone numbers and directions, but when that part of your brain that uses words goes dark, that's a vast area that's very close to your soul. Don't let some internet platform convince you that what you have to say and create isn't worthwhile. Words are the echo of your soul. Honing that echo matters.
