My case is:
3/ the entire paper is based on nothing more than a single idea being milked to an absurd extent, and the idea itself is too trivial to be publishable
which I'd argue to be just as devastating as the other two...

To be fair, the journal editor who reached out (a prof at the same uni as my upcoming master's advisor) knows who I am and what I'm capable of, and I'm flattered that they think I'm qualified. But I worry that I'd do a bad job due to my inexperience.

The outer automorphism group of S_n is trivial, except in the case n=6, where it is isomorphic to C_2.

Yes - the chair of grad studies said I was offered a full support package! (It's a research-based master's as opposed to a purely taught one, hence why this is possible!)
