So the thing about Robin Hood is he is pretty malleable to the needs of the moment. In the oldest oldest fragments of his stories that we have, he was just a violent criminal. Time goes on and he gets a girl, or hee's the green man, or he's devoted to Mary, or he's a socialist, or he's a noble.
