Meta: I have kept a public Mastodon account since leaving the other place, and this hasn't resulted in the level of drama that a public Twitter account did. Twitter kept turning my life upside down and never made me any money, so I limit social media because I don't have time for that.

We need mandatory retirement ages and term limits for every government office. These 60, 70, and 80 year olds holding us hostage before dying of old age in Congress, the Supreme Court, and the White House don’t have to live through the horrific shit they’re doing to us.

If Democrats give up their only point of leverage, their bad faith counterparty who lies all the time, is defunding their states, putting soldiers on their streets and tells the military they're a "gnat on your shoulder" to be "dealt with" promises that they'll totally pass a bipartisan bill. 100%.

In China, the military is the Communist Party's military, not the country's military. It really isn't unusual for a Party to have its own military in an authoritarian one party state, and this is now the United States of America. Of course, the fiction of a nonpartisan military is really only that.
