I continue to wonder what makes people like Stephen Miller so evil. This article is from the first Trump administration, and a bit long, but it is very revealing.

We have to resist until the would-be oligarchs give up.
Then we will have a mess to clean up, but also a renewed appreciation for what it takes to sustain democracy.
This is my hope. Mostly fueled by the resistance I see around the US and the world.

Are our values strong enough? Is our resolve to do the right thing enough to see the fight thru? Are there enough of us who will keep saving NO until Congress removes these criminals from the white house?
Most Americans don't want this. We have to resist until the would-be oligarchs give up.

As I have mentioned before, I have spent most my life thinking about what part of our human condition allowed Hitler to grab power in Germany. Leader can be irrational and lead us down stupid rat holes, because we admire strong leaders.
Now we have come to our test as Americans.
March 31, 2025 at 4:36 PM
This is a very interesting historical perspective. We have been at this cross road before, and saved our democracy. We all have to pitch in to save it from the oligarchs who don't like it.

The most depressing aspect of last night's 'pep rally' was watching Republicans, en masse, give a standing ovation to every lie and undemocratic proposal from the would-be king's mouth, in lock step.
