Hi, Bluesky!

I'm a CA-based designer with 20+ years of UX experience in a wide range of industries. I'm interested in how products, systems, and services can best meet people's needs.

I enjoy learning about accessibility and how to empower teams.

I'm an artist. I sketch landscapes and nature.
A digital painting of a worker trimming the spring growth in a California vineyard surrounded by yellow mustard blooms. A watercolor painting of water splashing on the rocks along the California coast. A page from my nature journal shows milkweed blossoms, monarchs, and monarch caterpillars with my handwritten notes. That year, the caterpillars didn't show up until well after the 4th of July. A colored pencil sketch of a church steeple surrounded by green mountains and buildings with red roofs in the Austrian Alps.

Thanks for the great service as always. Your team members are so friendly and kind. The ferry is my favorite way to commute.

Wow! Hello from a fellow Michigander. Very different worlds but both really special.

That’s awesome, thanks for sharing. That area is beautiful.

The milkweeds are getting bigger! I think it takes a few years before the rhizome is established enough to flower. Still hoping they’ll get big enough this season to support a caterpillar.

Caught a show last night. I love the Bay Area DIY punk scene and it’s so amazing to get to see the kids of Bay Area punks launching their own bands.

Crowd was so stoked.

Started this digital painting during my family travel last winter then forgot about it. 😅 it’s keeping me cool in the 80° heat.

Protested yesterday, planted native milkweeds today. Totally over sunned myself but worth it.

Happy No Kings Day! Here are my march-and-sketch drawings from today's San Francisco gathering. Fellow Americans, I hope your local celebration was equally lively. First, the assembly at Dolores Park... (1/3)

Thank you, @replsimon.bsky.social, for your passionate words yesterday at the Oakland march. And thank you @kpixtv.bsky.social for making the recording available. I'm thrilled to be able to share my representative's message.

These prickly pears grow all over the dunes in Indiana.

Many years ago the county mowed down a patch of them along the side of the road. I took some of the cuttings back with me, unsure if they’d survive.

They just bloomed their first bloom!

I planted a few native plant seeds in a spot along my sidewalk. The patch wound up mostly being weeds, but this poppy has been going like gangbusters. Nice work, little plant. #BloomScrolling

Books open the door to important conversations.

When kids read about tough topics—like identity, injustice, or mental health—talking with them builds trust, empathy, and critical thinking. Don't shy away; lean in. Your support helps them understand the world and their place in it.
