This is among the very few memes I've ever created, originally shared at the other place at some point in 2022-23 (that period of time is all a blur now).

Zelenskyy's statement is especially poignant these days.

This is absolutely what I observed throughout the inland and rural westside Pacific Northwest. Obama's presidency radicalized a lot of semi-closeted racists. White nationalist militias became more active here during that time, along with the tea party movement, and they joined and morphed into MAGA.

I've never understood why anyone ever thought that Trump would take Ukraine's side against Russia.

I'm already sick of her and everything to do with her. An annoying distraction.

I'm generally inclined to take 'revelations' like this with a coarse-ground grain of salt, but there is the email, and it would explain the Democratic leadership's unseemly reluctance to release the Epstein files during the Biden admin🤔🤨

It would also explain Trump’s demeanor in Helsinki in 2018.

Counterpoint.

I've had it with the protest purists who criticize seemingly everything that doesn't involve people in black bloc & gas masks picking fights with cops & setting cars and businesses on fire. When has that tactic ever moved the general public to take the protesters' side? Never, in the past 20 years.

This is my whistle of choice, scratched up from years of hanging from my backpack or work vest. Loud enough to scare off a bear. I recommend it if the Aztec Death Whistle isn't your thing.

The question that should've been asked: "Given that antifa is an abbreviation of antifascist, doesn't that indicate that being anti-antifa means that you are pro-fascism?"

Of course, any intrepid reporter who posed this question would've been dragged from the premises.

Everyone who opposes Nazis is #antifa. So, what does that make people who oppose antifa?

My earliest memory is of my mother being beaten by a boyfriend; my entire childhood was defined by her acceptance of abuse, mostly psychological, from various men. I never told her not to provoke them, but I did beg her to leave them.
Despite witnessing this, I still hold to the principles of MLK...

Here's what came up just now when I Googled "Trump dementia." No AI answer, just links.

FYI, Google: capitulating to the fascist regime didn't end well for many corporate execs in Nazi Germany.

But your guess was justified.

No, just another white male who doesn't acknowledge the existence of fascism unless he is personally affected by it.
September 30, 2025 at 2:29 PM
I guess the implementation of fascist policies - which has been happening since Trump took office in January - is somehow easy to overlook for some people who aren't directly harmed by them, which is the case for most white men. Must be nice to have the privilege of willful blindness/ignorance.

Fascism 101. Republicans just followed the template.

They may hate being called the f-word, but it does indeed apply to what the Republican party has become. Their methodology was actually predicted by this prescient fact sheet issued by the US Army in 1945.

It is long past time for people - particularly those who tout themselves as ethical journalists - to use the correct terminology in describing the Trump administration.

I didn't vote for this, nor did the majority of Americans. This is what happens when people living in a democracy don't care enough about it to vote.

The epitome of fascism. Everyone needs to call it what it is. The downplaying and denial is only shielding those who have foisted this system upon us. Not referring to you here, Aaron, but to other prominent voices in the media.

We had plenty of warning about this.

The epitome of fascism.

Why do some people who should know better continue to insist that we not call it fascism, when we can see for ourselves that it is?
September 27, 2025 at 2:01 AM
Denying the nature of the situation our country is now in helps no one but those imposing it upon us.

Yes, the terms "fascism" and "fascist" are broadly misunderstood and misapplied, but so is the tendency among a certain subset of people to avoid using them when and where they actually apply.
