The piece calls for a grown-up conversation on climate. Let’s start here:

There’s a difference between “we can’t create a truly ecological civilization under capitalism” (true!) and “everything is a lie, we’re doomed, nothing we can do in the next decade is worthwhile” (false!)

If you're looking for real "waste, fraud, and abuse," look no further than the long list of Trump vanity projects that are pissing away 100s of millions of tax payer dollars, as the rich get richer and basic programs are slashed for the poor. reason.com/2025/08/22/5...
$500 million to paint the border wall? 5 of Trump's strangest, most expensive vanity projects
Donald Trump is no stranger to wasteful spending. But these examples are especially egregious.

Being able to heat your home in the winter is not a luxury. It is a matter of life and death.

Trump and Musk’s decision to arbitrarily fire every worker in the office that helps working class and low income people heat their homes is outrageous.

The U.S is the wealthiest country in the history of the world. We should not have the highest rate of child poverty of nearly every major country on earth. We should have the lowest.

It's time to end this international embarrassment & create an economy that works for all.

This framing of what a 4C world will be like is the equivalent of saying
the world of the Mad Max movies
has 85% less office furniture than we do.

Billions die at 4C.

Pay attention to what works!!!

Boycotts need not bring biz to the brink of bankruptcy (tho we may need this tactic for some targets). But targeted boycotts that are legible to the public and to the targeted business, decrease cultural cache and (ideally) hit them in the pockets can and do work!!!

Hell yeah. Hold the line. This is what we need people to do.

Slow things down, don’t comply in advance so the courts have time to stop them. It’s starting to work.
Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

Something to remember is that the Techbro billionaire class were rarely the actual tech pioneers. They're the ones who bankrolled it, or engineered a controlling share interest.

They're just Railway Robber Barons 2.0.

It's why they're crap at actual tech. Their 'skill' was money, timing or theft.

This one is simple. Fossil fuel companies *knowingly* caused the climate crisis. They must be held accountable to help repair the damage they’re causing.

Climate Superfund laws are great way to do so, and California could be next:

New York and Vermont recently passed laws like these, which require energy companies to pay climate damages and will likely face fierce challenges.
