I get that the news cycle is packed right now, but I just heard from a colleague at the Smithsonian that this is fully a GIANT SQUID BEING EATEN BY A SPERM WHALE and it’s possibly the first ever confirmed video according to a friend at NOAA

This is one of my favourite things ever. From the awesome @kristorpjensen.bsky.social

I’m super excited to finally put my recent work with @behrenstimb.bsky.social on bioRxiv, where we develop a new mechanistic theory of how PFC structures adaptive behaviour using attractor dynamics in space and time!

Absolutely, please note this is a dataset and machine learning benchmark article. The behavior study is coming!

We’ll present the first benchmark at @neuripsconf.bsky.social — there is much more to come!

Amazing work from co-first authors Andy Bonnetto and Haozhe Qi and a big team! The smart kitchen was built in collaboration with Silvestro Micera, Friedhelm Hummel and @marcpollefeys.bsky.social.

Leveraging this multi-modal dataset, we propose four benchmarks to advance behavior understanding and modeling through 1) a vision-language benchmark, 2) a semantic text-to-motion generation benchmark, 3) a multi-modal action recognition benchmark, 4) a pose-based action segmentation benchmark.

Here, we introduce the EPFL-Smart-Kitchen-30 dataset, collected in a noninvasive motion capture platform inside a kitchen environment. Leveraging this multi-modal dataset, we propose four benchmarks to advance behavior understanding and modeling!

There is one walking-to-arbitrary-goals-task in Arnold’s repertoire, but one could easily imitate more tasks of Kinesis as well as standing still when being perturbed…. One could also make the architecture modular, and a very interesting direction that we are interested in.

Why is it called Arnold. It’s a transformer controlling muscles, aka a muscleformer. Well Arnold was one of the best muscle formers in history!

This paper also represents the first publication for new PhD student Chengkun Li and 2nd year PhD student Merkourios Simos—a nice blend of established expertise and fresh perspectives on the team. Check out what we created!

Arnold marks the culmination of former PhD student Alberto Chiappa's doctoral work in the lab! He co-first authored this with Boshi An, who like us won one of the first MyoChallenges, then interned with us, and later joined EPFL for his Master's.
