Let's find out! I'm doing very well in daily life for minimising emissions - using my bike and the train, eating less meat - and I still avoided enormous amounts of potential emissions. My flight free carbon calculations are deliberately pessimistic, so what you see is the worst case scenario

Beyond that, we're still looking at an overall increase, but a much lower one than the previous year. If we can keep things going in that direction, hopefully 2026 will be better. I might not fly transatlantic, and I might also have a bit more cash for flight free business travel

Amtrak trains have an odd mix of tiny doorways, but big comfy seats. We took the NE Regional to Boston South St, which is also a very decent terminus. The rest of the trip involved a wedding in New Hampshire, but that's all for the trains!

We had to see Grand Central, of course (bonus view of Pickle Guys). The new Moynihan Train Hall at Penn Station isn't too bad but it's no patch on the more practical terminus to the north.

Getting a bagel and seeing the views from the elevated lines is a fantastic cheap part of a day out to the equally fantastic NY public library. The hype for Zohran was building at the time - wonderful to see it pay off now!
