Trying to cover what doesn't cross borders about how trans rights are under attack in Europe.
"European countries" didn't come to their conclusions independently, CR didn't pick Sweden and Finland because they happened to be the scienciest. I don't see other countries' teams meeting up in the UK from at least 2018, before the new SOC were pushed through by the same people.

The country's largest LGBT group had previously asked me to DM them any new trans SOC from around the world, as 'there are so many accounts to follow".

I was trying to send them the French ones, but it looks like I got blocked bc I've publicly brought up how they don't keep up with trans issues 🙃.

MASSIVE win for a Monday morning - campaigners in Scotland have succeeded in getting NHS Lothian to drop their openly discriminatory surgery ban for trans people aged under 25.

Love to see this for France🥖.
SEGM should do more big-budget events in countries they're lobbying. In Paris their local partners in evidence-based science included the vice president of the Organization of Lacanian Psychoanalysts, but we've yet to work out the "logical" formulas for AGP and ROGD!

This EU Survey could give some information on who can actually access trans healthcare across Europe.

Which won't tell you a country's actual policy, when in some places 70% of respondents considered or got treatment abroad. But the data explorer alone is a great tool fra.europa.eu/hr/publicati...

This is sad news, but at least it is news. You have de facto bans in parts of European countries, some strongly enforced. Maybe only those affected would notice an internal policy change, and only stand to lose by speaking up.

Freedom is not a Nordic value.

Despite the country being a step up for trans care compared to the nordics, don't think Spain's left-wing prime minister is above meeting with vehemently anti-trans feminists.

Never assume things about countries based on vibes, and demand cis feminist allies do more.

Something to keep in mind about centralized universal healthcare, doctors across Nordic countries have lost their licences for prescribing HRT to trans ppl. I'd like to reach out to one of them, as this is mostly spread by mouth in the community, but verified by celebrations in GC circles.
Texas has access to the data of 37 states PDMPs. They can not only surveil trans people in their states but in others as well.

Nearly half of US states grant law enforcement access to testosterone prescription data within Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMPs) without warrant or subpoena.

If half a country had never had puberty blockers prescribed and de facto banned, the other half had one 17yo in the last few years, and the average age of starting hormones was over 18 for minors seeking care, should that country be marked as having both for minors on a map of Europe?

SEGMs conference in Paris described "the transgender child" as a symptom, and has a section called The European Countries That Haven't Changed (yet).

Zucker, Littman, Biggs, Levine, most appeared to sign the document for the french right wing party.

I should probably work in some pastel colors in the avatar etc.for the sake of clarity, despite all the below being very much my esthetic.

Finnish trans SOC for minors don't include forced sterilization solely because you have to be an adult to change gender markers. But the SOC do, not having been updated after that requirement was lifted.

An easy way to find a link to them is by googling "palveluvalikoima' + name of any red state.

Kind of when I looked at historical data on assigned gender ratios and ages of people seeking GAC re: the "new phenomenon" of Irreversible Damage etc.

There were decades of sources IN THE 90'S on transmascs seeking care younger on average, and vastly outnumbered transfems in Eastern Europe.
But, being the weird lil neurodivergent data nerd I am 🤓, I immediately went to the data and started trying to disprove racism, since I’d been taught by white adults that racism wasn’t real, it was just PoC “complaining”.

I, uhhh — well, let’s just say that debunking did NOT pan out.

"Across the US" is downplaying it. Colin Wright of the Manhattan Institute was on X announcing that tickets for a Genspect events were for sale in #Portugal, and SEGM is also tied to MI, who has also ramped up their activity after the Cass Review in Europe.

Gender critical ideology is normalized in #Finland, apparently to the point of abandoning any pretence of decency. The reviewer is a lesbian, so she couldn't be a well-connected part of the #antigender movement, right? Titled: "Is Butler Afraid of a Reckoning?" politiikasta.fi/kirja-arvio-...

In 2022, a nonbinary person and a bi man were killed outside a queer bar in Bratislava, Slovakia in a far-right terror attack.

Just thought I'd post this as it got very little coverage in many countries.

If you value #intersectionality, the big NGOs have contracts with the G, which can include helping the border patrol to determine who is gay/trans enough to stay.

I'd like to think there is room for a more modern alliance, independent of gvmt/EU funding, something like @imarajones.bsky.social does
November 18, 2024 at 7:36 PM
I really wonder, how many #gay Europeans with power have any idea about what's happening, and how many younger #queer people who are cis or don't need healthcare as would care if the big NGOs weren't toothless if not cissexist, and much of the media room
