If we're really open to spending $11B to elevate transportation infrastructure susceptible to sea level rise, can I interest Caltrans in 8 more miles of SMART?

The best opportunity to fix this right now is for people to comment on the MASCOTS plan about how the 32 minute SMART frequency is squandering all the value the other agencies are creating by aligning routes and schedules.

cities are good. d.c. is good. we should be a state. being one would not necessarily prevent anything that is happening, but what is happening is a sharp reminder that we aren't. (i was angrier about the budget.) we are not a state because of an inherent fear of ~the urban other.
