I came to Tennessee because this is where my mama wanted to go before she died. I put a bit of her ashes here at Rainbow Falls bc it’s the gayest place I could think of. It’s trump stores and those stupid flags everywhere. I have not spent a single dollar outside of food and water.

Parents like ours have never been truly impacted by an election. They’ve never worried about which states they can travel to, their body autonomy rights, their marriage rights.

They don’t see it that way, unfortunately. It’s so difficult to overcome that because they hold tight to things that are part of their comfort and identity.

It’s frustrating and frankly terrifying how little my dad is aware of actual problems that so many people are facing with this administration.

Must be nice to never be impacted by an election, never at risk of real threats or loss of basic rights.
